BASIC COLOR THEORY AND PIGMENTS
Learn basic color theory for achieving desired effects, pigment properties and quality, inherent risks, and safe ink handling and storage.
10 Hours
DESIGN, ART AND PLACEMENT
Learn distinctive types of tattoos, tattoo styles, art, symmetry, flow and placement.
10 Hours
NEEDLES AND NEEDLE BARS
Learn selection of various needle types and groupings for desired effects and application safely and effectively and how to ensure needle integrity.
20 Hours
TATTOO MACHINES
Learn the types, functions, and operations of tattoo machines and how to operate tattoo machines safely and effectively.
20 Hours
EQUIPMENT AND SUPPLIES
Learn equipment and supplies necessary for tattooing and how to use them safely and effectively.

CLIENT SERVICES
Learn to interact, consult with and perform appropriately when providing client services, and proper client record keeping.

SAFETY AND INFECTION CONTROL
Learn regulations relating to safety and infection control standards such as universal precautions, cross-contamination prevention, blood borne pathogens, and more.

BUSINESS OPERATIONS
Learn business practices and operations, including city, state and federal regulations.

OREGON LAWS AND RULES
Learn the Oregon Revised Statutes and Oregon Administrative Rules governing the practice of tattooing.

Learn the integumentary system, skin diseases and disorders and their application to skin and healing methods.

150 hours of Practical Course Description:
PRACTICAL APPLICATION OF TATTOOS
Put into practice all theory and method to design, set up for, apply, and clean up after a minimum of 50 tattoos.
